MedGlobal Team in Gaza Responds to An Escalating Crisis

Medical team working with local hospitals to assess needs and procure life saving supplies, leadership deeply alarmed and calls for immediate de-escalation

GAZA CITY – MedGlobal’s team of physicians and medical personnel on the ground in Gaza are responding in real time and are coordinating closely with local hospitals in Gaza to address their medical needs. Immediate needs are critical care medications, and surgical, orthopedic, vascular, and life-saving medical supplies.

The team is presently safe but the situation is highly
dynamic and the loss of innocent life heartbreaking.

MedGlobal’s president Dr. Zaher Sahloul said:

“This is the last thing that Gaza and the region needs. The escalating conflict is a
heartbreaking tragedy and is already claiming the lives of innocent civilians. Our prayers are with the victims and their families. We call on all parties to respect medical neutrality. Our team is working around the clock to respond to the crisis. The international community must work toward immediate de-escalation and humanitarian support.”

MedGlobal’s Gaza country representative in Palestine, Raja Musleh, said “Our families witnessed a lot of suffering throughout the years. We are in deep shock. We are witnessing many casualties and injuries among civilians and we expect worse. We pray for peace and healing.”

In light of the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza and the region and the expected further deterioration and escalation, MedGlobal is launching a major humanitarian campaign to help the injured and support the hospitals.

Since 2018, MedGlobal has been sending volunteer medical teams to help build healthcare capacity among our Palestinian colleagues and has been providing primary and secondary healthcare by supporting hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers and mobile clinics in partnership with the local community.
