[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Every year in the last week of April, World Immunization Week is observed to raise awareness about the significance of vaccines and immunization. This year’s World Immunization Week theme is “Vaccines Bring Us Closer.”
Vaccines not only protect us from fatal diseases, but they also bring us closer to our loved ones, communities, and a brighter future. In this blog, we will discuss the impact MedGlobal is having on routine immunizations for Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi locals.
Immunizations are one of the primary services offered by MedGlobal in Bangladesh. MedGlobal has worked to increase vaccination rates among Rohingya refugees and the local population.
Since the organization began working in Bangladesh, a total of 28,386 people have been vaccinated, including 13,667 males and 14,786 females. This number includes 15,532 COVID-19-vaccinated individuals and 12,854 diphtheria-vaccinated individuals.
Routine Immunization:
MedGlobal takes a dual approach to immunization. First, they aim to raise awareness and demand for immunization among Rohingya refugees and the local populace.
MedGlobal conducts community mobilization and outreach activities to educate individuals on the importance of immunization and the benefits of vaccines.
Additionally, the organization collaborates closely with community leaders, religious leaders, and healthcare providers to address vaccine-related misconceptions and concerns.
Second, through its mobile Teams and primary healthcare centers, MedGlobal offers immunization services. Community Health Workers (CHW) and healthcare professionals administer vaccines and provide follow-up care to ensure that individuals receive the full course of immunizations.
Providing Services for Immunization:
MedGlobal offers a variety of additional healthcare services, including maternal and child health, mental health, and non-communicable diseases, to enhance the health and well-being of Rohingya refugees and the local population.
The impact of MedGlobal’s work in Bangladesh on immunization coverage among Rohingya refugees and the local population has been substantial. The efforts of the organization have increased demand for vaccines and improved access to immunization services.
As a result, a greater number of individuals are now protected against deadly diseases such as COVID-19 and diphtheria.
Influence on Inoculation Coverage:
In Bangladesh, MedGlobal has a significant impact on routine immunizations for Rohingya refugees and local populations. Increasing awareness and demand for immunization, in addition to providing immunization services through its mobile clinics and primary healthcare centers, has helped to increase immunization coverage and protect more individuals from deadly diseases.
As we observe World Immunization Week, let us recognize the critical role that organizations like MedGlobal play in promoting vaccines and immunization and bringing us closer to a better future.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
