Leen’s Story

In the midst of the challenges faced in Gaza due to the conflict, nutrition has been a significant concern, particularly affecting children.

Amidst the devastation, within the Almawasi camp in Rafah, a story of hope emerges. Leen, a 2 year old girl, exemplifies the harsh reality of malnutrition in the area, weighing just 10kg and deprived of basic childhood experiences due to her weakened condition.

Despite these dire circumstances, Leen’s journey took a turn for the better with the intervention of MedGlobal. Our team, during their outreach in the camp, identified Leen’s critical condition of severe malnutrition, she was quickly referred to MedGlobal’s Primary Health Care (PHC) for treatment.

MedGlobal’s approach included providing Leen with Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) and essential nutrients, closely monitoring her health through regular check-ups, and conducting necessary medical tests. Remarkably, with consistent care, Leen began to show signs of improvement.

This transformation brought not just a revival of health to Leen but also a renewed sense of hope to her mother. Leen’s recovery stands as a beacon of resilience and the impact of collective humanitarian efforts.

Leen represents just one of many children facing such hardships in Gaza, her story underscores the critical importance of your support and generosity. Your support allows MedGlobal to make a significant difference in the lives of children like Leen.
